Activity Questions:
1. Your friends asked you to try to
smoke a cigarette. They said that if you don’t try it, you will be out to their
group.
What is the problem?
I am forced into a situation where I am peer pressured
to make a decision that will negatively affect my health. The idea of them
trying to push me into doing something that I do not want to do is just wrong.
What is your responsibility?
As a person, I am responsible to take care of my own
health and not be swayed by other people's influence. As a friend, it is my
responsibility to correct their wrongdoings.
What would be the solution?
Their mentality and what they are trying to do is clearly
wrong. Naturally, I would refuse them their offer even if they kick me out
of their group. Despite this, I would still try to persuade them into stopping
their negative actions and ideas as they are still my friends.
2. You have always enjoyed badminton until you found
out that your crush liked it, too. One time during practice, though, your crush
watched your training and that made you conscious. This eventually resulted in
errors that your coach scolded you in front of the audience. You felt
embarrassed especially to your crush who happened to be there in the venue.
What is the problem?
I experienced a cognitive challenge
where I became overly self-conscious because my crush was watching which caused
me to lose focus during training.
What is your responsibility?
I am responsible for mistakes/blunders that I have made,
the embarrassment that I have received in front of everyone watching including
my crush, and it is also my responsibility to apologize to my coach.
What would be the solution?
I will accept and brush off the mistakes that I have made
and move on. I will reflect on the situation and try to not be overly conscious
of myself during practices especially when my crush is watching.
3. Your friend invited you to sleep over in their
house to finish the research paper that you need to submit the next day.
However, you are anxious because your classmate’s house is far, and your
parents might not allow you to go.
What is the problem?
My parents may not allow me to go to my friend’s house to
finish our research paper. With that, I cannot help in finishing the research
paper, my friend would find it hard to finish it without me, and I would have
no contributions in making the research paper on that particular day.
What is your responsibility?
It is my responsibility to help in finishing our research
paper with any means possible.
What would be the solution?
If they would not allow me to go to my
friend’s house, I will try to use other ways for me to be able to help
them. What I can do is I can communicate and work with them through online
means. With this, we can finish the research paper easily just as if I was in
my friend’s house.
