1ST Quarter_Week 7_Facial Care
1. What are the 5 skin types and in your own words (based on your understanding) explain each.
·
Dry
When the skin is
flaky, this is an indication of dehydration. This means that your skin will
need to get moisturized, so drinking enough water is the key.
·
Oily
This happens
when your skin becomes sticky due to the clogging of the pores. Washing your
face is a good way to reduce oiliness along with proper hydration.
·
Normal
This is an
indication of healthy skin. This happens when the face is not too oily nor dry.
·
Combination
This is when
there are selected parts of the face (usually on the bridge of the nose and
chin) that are oily.
·
Sensitive
People with this
type of skin should be careful in selecting the skincare products to use. If
not, it could cause agitation or irritation and can worsen the condition of the
skin.
2. What are the basic steps for facial care and explain
each.
·
Cleansing: Wash your face with lukewarm
water at least twice a day.
·
Exfoliate: This is done to get rid of the
dead skin cells on the face (should only be done once a week).
·
Use Toner: The application of toner
removes dirt and grime from the face, which helps pores to tighten.
·
Moisturize: Moisturizer needs to be
applied for a few minutes after using the toner. It keeps the skin from drying
out.
·
Sunscreen (Optional): Sunscreen needs to
apply at least SPF 30 to the skin to protect it from the UV radiations of the
sun. A good reminder: it should not be applied during the night because it will
cause skin irritation.
